Abraham’s faith grew stronger (Rom 4:20)

“No distrust

Made Abraham waver

Concerning the promise of God.

But he grew strong

In his faith

As he gave glory to God.”

Paul said that no distrust made Abraham waver (οὐ διεκρίθη τῇ ἀπιστίᾳ) concerning the promise of God (εἰς δὲ τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν τοῦ Θεοῦ).  But he grew strong (ἀλλὰ ἐνεδυναμώθη) in his faith (τῇ πίστει) as he gave glory to God (δοὺς δόξαν τῷ Θεῷ).  Paul indicated that Abraham, despite the obvious questioning about this new child, never wavered in God’s promise to him.  In fact, his faith grew stronger as he gave glory to God.   Thus, Abraham was clearly the father of faith by his life and example.  Who is the father of faith for you?
