You are the light in the darkness (Rom 2:19)

“You are sure

That you yourselves

Are a guide

To the blind,

A light

To those

In darkness.”

πέποιθάς τε σεαυτὸν ὁδηγὸν εἶναι τυφλῶν, φῶς τῶν ἐν σκότει,

Paul said to the Jews that they were sure (πέποιθάς τε) that they themselves were a guide (τε σεαυτὸν ὁδηγὸν εἶναι) to the blind (τυφλῶν), a light (φῶς) to those who are in darkness (τῶν ἐν σκότει).  Paul pointed out that the Jewish people were certainly guides to the blind, bringing light to where there was darkness.  They were not evil in themselves, but were trying to do good.  They were the teachers to the non-Jewish gentile people about the will of God.  They were the instructors on the Law of God.  Are you a teacher about God?
