They had not heard any bad things about Paul (Acts 28:21)

“They replied.

‘We have received

No letters

From Judea

About you.

None of the believing brothers

Coming here

Has reported

Or spoken anything evil

About you.’”

The author of Acts indicated that the Jewish leaders in Rome replied to Paul (οἱ δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν εἶπαν) that they (Ἡμεῖς οὔτε) had not received (ἐδεξάμεθα) any letters (γράμματα) from Judea (ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰουδαίας) about Paul (περὶ σοῦ).  None of the believing brothers who came to Rome (οὔτε παραγενόμενός τις τῶν ἀδελφῶν) have reported (ἀπήγγειλεν) or spoken anything (ἢ ἐλάλησέν τι) evil (πονηρόν) about him (περὶ σοῦ).  The Roman Jews said that they had not received any letters from the Jerusalem Jews about Paul.  At the same time, any Jewish brothers newly arriving in Rome have not reported or said anything evil about Paul.  Perhaps, no one had spoken to the Asian Jews who so disliked Paul.  Has anyone ever reprimanded your work?

  1. Dear Paul,
Thank you for your comment. However, I do suggest that you use Bible Hub since they have the Greek text with English translations. I also suggest that you learn the Greek alphabet very well so that you get to know the basic words in Greek. Then you can build on that. Become acquainted with various Greek phrases that are often repeated. Then you can build out from there.
