You need to survive! (Acts 27:34)

“Therefore,

I urge you

To take some food.

It will help you

To survive.

None of you

Will lose a hair

From your heads.”

The author of Acts indicated that Paul urged them (διὸ παρακαλῶ ὑμᾶς) to take some food (μεταλαβεῖν τροφῆς).  It would help them survive (τοῦτο γὰρ πρὸς τῆς ὑμετέρας σωτηρίας ὑπάρχει).  He said that none of them (οὐδενὸς γὰρ ὑμῶν) would lose (ἀπολεῖται) a hair (θρὶξ) from their heads (ἀπὸ τῆς κεφαλῆς).  Luke, chapter 21:18, had Jesus say this exact saying that not a hair of their heads (καὶ θρὶξ ἐκ τῆς κεφαλῆς ὑμῶν) would perish or be destroyed (οὐ μὴ ἀπόληται).  This saying only appeared in Luke and here with Paul saying the same as Jesus, but it is not found elsewhere in the other gospel stories.  Paul urged them to eat some food to help them survive and use common sense.  Why had they not eaten before or was there enough food for them?  Then he told them all that they would not lose a hair on their head.  Paul guaranteed them their safety.  Have you ever guaranteed the safety of anyone?
