They would not see him again (Acts 20:38)

“They were grieving,

Especially

Because of what he had said,

That they would not

See him again.

They brought him

To the ship.”

The author of Acts indicated that they were grieving (ὀδυνώμενοι), especially (μάλιστα) because of what he had said (ἐπὶ τῷ λόγῳ ᾧ εἰρήκει), that they would not see his face again (ὅτι οὐκέτι μέλλουσιν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ θεωρεῖν).  Thus, they brought him (προέπεμπον δὲ αὐτὸν) to the ship (εἰς τὸ πλοῖον).  The elders from Ephesus was grieving or upset because they thought that they would never see Paul again.  However, they brought him to the boat that was about to sail, nevertheless.  There was no question that Paul had made a big impact on the developing Christian church at Ephesus.  Have you made an impact on any church you have been associated with?
