‘Believe in the Lord Jesus!
Then you will be saved!
And your household!’”
οἱ δὲ εἶπαν Πίστευσον ἐπὶ τὸν Κύριον Ἰησοῦν, καὶ σωθήσῃ σὺ καὶ ὁ οἶκός σου.
The author of Acts indicated that Paul and Silas told (οἱ δὲ εἶπαν) him to believe (Πίστευσον) in the Lord Jesus (ἐπὶ τὸν Κύριον Ἰησοῦν). Then he would be saved (καὶ σωθήσῃ), both him (σὺ) and his household (ὁ οἶκός σου). Paul and Silas clearly said that he and his household could be saved by believing in the Lord Jesus. Plain and simple, nice and easy, all he had to do was believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Once again, there was not a lot of preparation, like the Ethiopian in chapter 8:26-36. Just like Cornelius, his whole household family would be included in this salvation. Do you think that your whole family will be saved?
