Stay out of Bithynia! (Acts 16:7)

“They came

Opposite Mysia.

They attempted

To go into Bithynia,

But the Spirit of Jesus

Did not allow them.”

The author of Acts indicated that they came (ἐλθόντες δὲ) opposite Mysia (κατὰ τὴν Μυσίαν).  They attempted (ἐπείραζον) to go (πορευθῆναι) into Bithynia (εἰς τὴν Βιθυνίαν), but the Spirit of Jesus (τὸ Πνεῦμα Ἰησοῦ) did not allow them (καὶ οὐκ εἴασεν αὐτοὺς).  Mysia was about 300 miles northwest of Lystra, so this was a long haul.  Once again, the Spirit of Jesus told them to stay away from the northern area in Bithynia, right along the Black Sea.  As before, maybe there were not any Jewish communities there.  How adventuresome are you?
