The circumcised believers
Ὅτε δὲ ἀνέβη Πέτρος εἰς Ἱερουσαλήμ, διεκρίνοντο πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἐκ περιτομῆς
The author of Acts indicated that when Peter (Πέτρος) went up (Ὅτε δὲ ἀνέβη) to Jerusalem (εἰς Ἱερουσαλήμ), the circumcised believers (οἱ ἐκ περιτομῆς) criticized him (διεκρίνοντο πρὸς αὐτὸν). Apparently, there was a group of Jewish circumcised followers of Jesus that were upset at Peter for his dealings with the uncircumcised gentiles. Everything was not running smooth among the early Christians, as even Peter was coming under scrutiny for his actions in Caesarea. Are you critical of other church members who reach out to people not in your church?
