Saul would have a vision about Ananias (Acts 9:12)

“Saul would have seen

In a vision

A man named Ananias

Come in

And lay his hands

On him,

So that he might

Regain his sight.”

καὶ εἶδεν ἄνδρα Ἀνανίαν ὀνόματι εἰσελθόντα καὶ ἐπιθέντα αὐτῷ χεῖρας, ὅπως ἀναβλέψῃ.

The author of Acts indicated that the Lord would have Saul experience a vision about this man (καὶ εἶδεν ἄνδρα) named Ananias (Ἀνανίαν ὀνόματι).  He would come in (εἰσελθόντα) and lay his hands on him (καὶ ἐπιθέντα αὐτῷ χεῖρας), so that he might regain his sight (ὅπως ἀναβλέψῃ).  Once again, this vision of Ananias is only found here and not in the later personal speeches of Saul about his conversion in chapters 22 and 26.  In fact, the word vision (ἐν ὁράματι) was missing in a lot of manuscripts.  Saul would have a vision about Ananias who would cure him of his temporary blindness by laying his hands on him, the usual form of healing.  Thus, the Lord reassured Ananias that this Saul of Taurus would accept him, because he too would have a vision about Ananias.  Would you trust a vision?
