The good news about Jesus (Acts 8:35)

“Then Philip

Began to speak.

He started

With this scripture.

He proclaimed

To him

The good news

About Jesus.”

The author of Acts indicated that then Philip (δὲ ὁ Φίλιππος) started to talk or opened (ἀνοίξας) his mouth (τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ).  He began to speak (καὶ ἀρξάμενος) about this scripture passage (ἀπὸ τῆς γραφῆς ταύτης).  He proclaimed the good news or evangelized (εὐηγγελίσατο) to him (αὐτῷ) about Jesus (τὸν Ἰησοῦν).  Philip clearly explained to him that the prophet Isaiah was predicting the coming of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the messianic suffering servant.  Philips continued with his evangelization by proclaiming the good news about Jesus, the Christ, the Israelite Messiah.  Have you understood Jesus as the messianic suffering servant?
