We will speak! (Acts 4:20)

“We cannot keep

From speaking

About what

We have seen

And heard.”

οὐ δυνάμεθα γὰρ ἡμεῖς ἃ εἴδαμεν καὶ ἠκούσαμεν μὴ λαλεῖν.

The author of Acts indicated that Peter and John responded that they could not keep from speaking (οὐ δυνάμεθα γὰρ ἡμεῖς μὴ λαλεῖν) about what they had seen (ἃ εἴδαμεν) and heard (καὶ ἠκούσαμεν).  The response of Peter and John was simple.  They were going to speak about what they seen and heard about Jesus Christ.  They were led by the Holy Spirit to bear witness to Jesus Christ that he had risen from the dead.  This Jerusalem Sanhedrin could not silence them.  This was the first of many conflicts that the followers of Jesus would have with the Jewish religious leaders.  Have you ever wanted to speak about what you have heard and seen?
