The name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:10)

“Let it be known

To you all,

And to all the people

Of Israel,

That this man

Is standing before you

In good health

By the name of Jesus Christ

Of Nazareth,

Whom you crucified.

God has raised him

From the dead.”

The author of Acts indicated that Peter said it should be known to all of them (γνωστὸν ἔστω πᾶσιν ὑμῖν) and to all the people of Israel (καὶ παντὶ τῷ λαῷ Ἰσραὴλ), that this man was standing before them in good health (οὗτος παρέστηκεν ἐνώπιον ὑμῶν ὑγιής) by (ἐν τούτῳ) and in the name (ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι) of Jesus Christ of Nazareth (Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τοῦ Ναζωραίου), whom they had crucified (ὃν ὑμεῖς ἐσταυρώσατε).  God had raised him from the dead (ὃν ὁ Θεὸς ἤγειρεν ἐκ νεκρῶν).  Peter had a simple answer and he wanted everyone to hear it.  This lame man was cured by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the very one that they had crucified, but that God had raised from the dead.  There was not any need to have a long discussion.  Peter got right to the point.  They were acting in the power and name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  What do you do in the name of Jesus?
