Repent! (Acts 3:19)

Return to God!

Your sins

May be wiped out!”

μετανοήσατε οὖν καὶ ἐπιστρέψατε πρὸς τὸ ἐξαλειφθῆναι ὑμῶν τὰς ἁμαρτίας,

The author of Acts indicated that Peter said that they should repent (μετανοήσατε οὖν) and return (καὶ ἐπιστρέψατε) to God.  Thus, their sins (ὑμῶν τὰς ἁμαρτίας) would be wiped out (πρὸς τὸ ἐξαλειφθῆναι).  Peter wanted his fellow Jewish people to repent, have a metanoia, and return to God by accepting Jesus as the Messiah Christ.  If they did so, their sins would be wiped away via baptism.  The accepting of Jesus with baptism was implied here rather than explicit.  Have you tried to turn your life around?
