You killed the author of life (Acts 3:15)

“You killed

The Author of life!

God raised Jesus

From the dead.

We are witnesses

To this.”

The author of Acts indicated that Peter continued that they had killed (ἀπεκτείνατε) the author of life (τὸν δὲ Ἀρχηγὸν τῆς ζωῆς).  However, God (ὃν ὁ Θεὸς) raised up Jesus from the dead (ἤγειρεν ἐκ νεκρῶν).  They were the witnesses (ἡμεῖς μάρτυρές ἐσμεν) to this resurrection from the dead (οὗ).  The author of life would be an allusion to John in his prologue, chapter 1:3.  John said that the word (ὁ Λόγος) pre-existed before the world.  All things were made through him (πάντα δι’ αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο).  Without him there would be no life, nothing could come into existence (καὶ χωρὶς αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο οὐδὲ ἕν ὃ γέγονεν).  John has combined these various elements of the word, wisdom, and creation together.  Without the Word, nothing would exist.  On top of Jesus as the creative infinite Word, God also raised up Jesus from the dead.  If they had any questions, the apostles of Jesus were the witnesses to this resurrection of Jesus.  Do you believe that Jesus is the author of life?
