Walk! (Acts 3:6)

“But Peter said.

‘I have no silver

Or gold.

But what I have,

I will give you.

In the name

Of Jesus Christ

Of Nazareth!

Walk!’”

The author of Acts indicated that Peter (δὲ Πέτρος) said (εἶπεν) to the lame beggar that he did not possess (οὐχ ὑπάρχει μοι) any silver (Ἀργύριον) or gold (καὶ χρυσίον).  However, he was going to give him something else (ὃ δὲ ἔχω, τοῦτό σοι δίδωμι).  He told him to walk (περιπάτει) in the name (ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι) of Jesus Christ (Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ) of Nazareth (τοῦ Ναζωραίου).  Peter did not have any silver or gold.  He had something else to give this lame beggar.  He healed him of his lameness.  Peter’s power, however, was not from himself, but from Jesus, the Messiah Christ from Nazareth.  Jesus was no longer just from Nazareth, but rather Jesus, the Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah.  Have you ever witnessed anyone receive a miraculous cure?
