Peter and John go to the Temple (Acts 3:1)

“Peter

And John

Were going up

To the Temple

At the hour of prayer,

The ninth hour,

Three in the afternoon.”

Πέτρος δὲ καὶ Ἰωάνης ἀνέβαινον εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν ἐπὶ τὴν ὥραν τῆς προσευχῆς τὴν ἐνάτην.

The author of Acts indicated that Peter (Πέτρος) and John (δὲ καὶ Ἰωάνης) were going up (ἀνέβαινον) to the Temple (εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν) at the hour of prayer (ἐπὶ τὴν ὥραν τῆς προσευχῆς), the ninth hour (τὴν ἐνάτην), three o’clock in the afternoon.  Notice that Peter and John seem to be the leading apostles.  The hour or prayer was twice a day at the third hour in the morning, nine o’clock, and then three in the afternoon, the ninth hour as here, the evening sacrificial prayer.  Probably the other apostles were with them.  They were very devout Jewish men, going to the daily prayer time at the Temple.  Do you pray at least twice a day?
