The work of the apostles (Acts 2:43)

“Awe came upon

Every one,

Because many wonders

And signs

Were being done

By the apostles.”

Ἐγίνετο δὲ πάσῃ ψυχῇ φόβος· πολλά δὲ τέρατα καὶ σημεῖα διὰ τῶν ἀποστόλων ἐγίνετο.

The author of Acts indicated that awe or fear (φόβος) came upon (Ἐγίνετο) every soul or every one (δὲ πάσῃ ψυχῇ), because many wonders (πολλά δὲ τέρατα) and signs (καὶ σημεῖα) were being done (ἐγίνετο) by the apostles (διὰ τῶν ἀποστόλων).  Everyone was a little afraid or awestruck with fear because the apostles were performing many miraculous wonders and signs.  The power of Jesus was being transferred to his apostles.  Have you ever been awestruck?
