Two men in white robes (Acts 1:10)

“While Jesus was going up,

They were gazing up

Toward heaven.

Two men

In white robes,

Stood by them.”

The author of Acts indicated that while Jesus was going up (πορευομένου αὐτοῦ) to heaven, they were gazing up (καὶ ὡς ἀτενίζοντες ἦσαν) toward heaven also (εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν).  Suddenly (καὶ ἰδοὺ), two men (ἄνδρες δύο) in white robes (ἐν ἐσθήσεσι λευκαῖς), stood by them (παρειστήκεισαν αὐτοῖς).  This was not in the ascension story in Luke.  However, there had been two men at the tomb of Jesus, in Luke 24:4 and John, chapter 20:12.  Luke said that suddenly two men (καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνδρες δύο), in dazzling clothes (ἐν ἐσθῆτι ἀστραπτούσῃ), stood beside the two women (ἐπέστησαν αὐταῖς).  As these women from Galilee were confused or troubled, these two men in dazzling clothes, like angels, were standing in the tomb to explain everything to them.  John, also had two angels talk to Mary Magdalene in the tomb, much like the two men in Luke.  These two men in white clothes were probably angels or messengers of God.  What do you think about angels?
