They knew he was the Lord (Jn 21:12-21:12)

“Jesus said to them.

‘Come!

Have breakfast!’

Now none of the disciples

Dared ask him.

‘Who are you?’

They knew

He was the Lord.”

John uniquely indicated that Jesus (ὁ Ἰησοῦς) invited them (λέγει αὐτοῖς) to come (Δεῦτε) and have breakfast with him (ἀριστήσατε).  None (οὐδεὶς) of the disciples (τῶν μαθητῶν) dared (ἐτόλμα) to ask him (ἐξετάσαι αὐτόν) who he was (Σὺ τίς εἶ).  They knew (εἰδότες) that he was the Lord (ὅτι ὁ Κύριός ἐστιν).  Jesus invited these fishermen disciples to have breakfast with him.  None of these disciples dared to ask him who he was, since they knew that he was the Lord, Jesus.  Have you ever questioned someone you knew?
