The Father is glorified in the Son (Jn 14:13-14:13)

“I will do

Whatever you ask

In my name.

The Father

May be glorified

In the Son.”

καὶ ὅ τι ἂν αἰτήσητε ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου, τοῦτο ποιήσω, ἵνα δοξασθῇ ὁ Πατὴρ ἐν τῷ Υἱῷ.

John uniquely indicated that Jesus said that he would do (τοῦτο ποιήσω) whatever they asked (καὶ ὅ τι ἂν αἰτήσητε) in his name (ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου).  Thus, his Father (ὁ Πατὴρ) would be glorified (ἵνα δοξασθῇ) in his Son (ἐν τῷ Υἱῷ), Jesus.  Anything done or asked in the name of Jesus would have great power.  Thus, Jesus would answer them, so that the Father might be glorified in the Son.  Ask in the name of Jesus and God will respond, so that the Father would be praised or glorified in the Son, Jesus.  Do you pray to God in the name of Jesus?
