The crowd bore witness (Jn 12:17-12:17)

“Thus,

The crowd

That had been

With Jesus

When he called Lazarus

Out of the tomb

And raised him

From the dead

Bore witness.”

Then John uniquely indicated that the crowd (οὖν ὁ ὄχλος) that had been with Jesus (ὁ ὢν μετ’ αὐτοῦ) when he called Lazarus (ὅτε τὸν Λάζαρον ἐφώνησεν) out of the tomb (ἐκ τοῦ μνημείου) and raised him (καὶ ἤγειρεν αὐτὸν) from the dead (ἐκ νεκρῶν) bore witness (Ἐμαρτύρει) to Jesus.  Not all the people were against Jesus.  John indicated that some of them were bearing witness to the importance of Jesus, since they had seen him raise Lazarus from the dead.  Would someone rising from the dead get your attention?
