Why repeat this story? (Jn 9:27-9:27)

“He answered them.

‘I have told you already.

You would not listen.

Why do you want

To hear it again?

Do you too want

To become

His disciples?’”

ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς Εἶπον ὑμῖν ἤδη καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσατε· τί πάλιν θέλετε ἀκούειν; μὴ καὶ ὑμεῖς θέλετε αὐτοῦ μαθηταὶ γενέσθαι;

John uniquely indicated that this former blind man answered them (ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς).  He said that he had told them already (Εἶπον ὑμῖν ἤδη).  However, they would not listen to him (καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσατε).  Why did they want to hear it again (τί πάλιν θέλετε ἀκούειν)?  Did they wish (μὴ καὶ ὑμεῖς θέλετε) to become his disciples (αὐτοῦ μαθηταὶ γενέσθαι) also?  This former blind person was getting a little upset with this Jewish group or Pharisees.  He had already told them his story.  What more did they want?  Did they want to become the disciples of Jesus?  This was not what they were expecting to hear.  Are we sometimes surprised by what we hear?
