Jesus is a prophet (Jn 9:17-9:17)

“Thus,

They said again

To the blind man.

‘What do you say

About him?

He has opened

Your eyes.’

He said.

‘He is a prophet.’”

John uniquely said that they, the Pharisees, asked (λέγουσιν οὖν) the blind man again (ῷ τυφλῷ πάλιν) what did he have to say about the man (Τί σὺ λέγεις περὶ αὐτοῦ) who opened his eyes (ὅτι ἠνέῳξέν σου τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς).  This former blind man (ὁ δὲ εἶπεν) said that the man who cured him was a prophet (ὅτι Προφήτης ἐστίν).  Based on firsthand experience, this healed man born blind elevated his understanding about Jesus.  He no longer considered Jesus just a man as before, but he now called him a prophet, just like the Samaritan woman at the well in chapter 4:19.  There was a gradual understanding of the role of Jesus.  Is that happening in your life?
