They bring him to the Pharisees (Jn 9:13-9:13)

“They brought

The man

Who had formerly

Been blind.

To the Pharisees.”

Ἄγουσιν αὐτὸν πρὸς τοὺς Φαρισαίους, τόν ποτε τυφλόν.

John uniquely introduced the Pharisees into this incident.  He said that this Jewish group brought (Ἄγουσιν αὐτὸν) this former blind man (τόν ποτε τυφλόν) to the Pharisees (πρὸς τοὺς Φαρισαίους).  It is not clear why the Pharisees were introduced here.  They had been the chief opponents of Jesus in the synoptic gospels.  Here, in John, it was mostly this ambiguous group of Jews that provided most of the opposition to Jesus, but here they are both combined.  What is your opinion of the Pharisees?
