‘I do not have a demon.
But I honor my Father.
You dishonor me.’”
ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς Ἐγὼ δαιμόνιον οὐκ ἔχω, ἀλλὰ τιμῶ τὸν Πατέρα μου, καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀτιμάζετέ με.
John uniquely indicated that the name calling continued. Jesus (Ἰησοῦς) responded (ἀπεκρίθη) that he did not have a demon (Ἐγὼ δαιμόνιον οὐκ ἔχω). But he honored (ἀλλὰ τιμῶ) his Father (τὸν Πατέρα μου). However, they dishonored him (καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀτιμάζετέ με). Quite correctly, Jesus said that he had no demon, but rather he honored his Father, while they dishonored him and his Father. Have you ever dishonored anyone?
