You do not believe me (Jn 8:45-8:45)

“But because I tell

The truth,

You do not

Believe me.”

ἐγὼ δὲ ὅτι τὴν ἀλήθειαν λέγω, οὐ πιστεύετέ μοι.

John uniquely indicated that Jesus said that he was the exact opposite of the devil.  He told (λέγω) the truth (ἐγὼ δὲ ὅτι τὴν ἀλήθειαν).  Thus, these followers of the father of liars would not believe Jesus (οὐ πιστεύετέ μοι).  Thus, it came down to truth and lies.  They could not believe Jesus, the truth, because of their relationship to the father of lies.  Do you always tell the truth?
