The words of your Father (Jn 8:38-8:38)

“I declare

What I have seen

In the Father’s presence.

You should do

What you have heard

From your Father!”

ἃ ἐγὼ ἑώρακα παρὰ τῷ Πατρὶ λαλῶ· καὶ ὑμεῖς οὖν ἃ ἠκούσατε παρὰ τοῦ πατρὸς ποιεῖτε.

John uniquely indicated that Jesus said that he declared or spoke about (λαλῶ) what he had seen (ἃ ἐγὼ ἑώρακα) with the Father (παρὰ τῷ Πατρὶ), in his presence.  They should now (καὶ ὑμεῖς οὖν) do (ποιεῖτε) what they have heard (οὖν ἃ ἠκούσατε) from their Father (παρὰ τοῦ πατρὸς).  Jesus was declaring to them what he had seen with the Father.  They should be doing what they heard from their Father, instead of what they were doing.  Jesus claimed that he and the Father were on the same page.  These descendants of Abraham should be following the Father the way that Abraham had done.  Do you follow the what you have heard from God, the Father?
