The Jews complained (Jn 6:41-6:41)

“Then the Jews

Complained about Jesus.

Because he had said.

‘I am the bread

That came down

From heaven.’”

John uniquely indicated that the Jewish representatives (οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι) from this crowd started to complain or grumble (Ἐγόγγυζον οὖν) about Jesus (περὶ αὐτοῦ), because Jesus had said (ὅτι εἶπεν) that he was the bread (Ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ἄρτος) that came down (ὁ καταβὰς) from heaven (ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ).  John interjected this complaint from the crowd listening to this bread of life discourse.  Their ancestors at the time of Moses also complained when they were in the wilderness in Exodus, chapters 16-17.  These members of the crowd did not like this idea that Jesus said that he was the bread of life from heaven, implying that he was God or divine.  Do you believe that Jesus is God?
