God is Spirit (Jn 4:24-4:24)

“God is Spirit.

Those who worship him

Must worship

In Spirit

And truth.”

Πνεῦμα ὁ Θεός, καὶ τοὺς προσκυνοῦντας ἐν πνεύματι καὶ ἀληθείᾳ δεῖ προσκυνεῖν.

John uniquely indicated that Jesus repeated himself.  Yet he added an interesting note in that he very clearly said that God is Spirit (Πνεῦμα ὁ Θεός), not material in any way.  Thus, the worshipers (καὶ τοὺς προσκυνοῦντας) must worship him (δεῖ προσκυνεῖν) in Spirit (ἐν πνεύματι) and truth (καὶ ἀληθείᾳ), almost indicating no materiality at all in liturgical worship.  Do you believe in the true spiritual life of God?
