The evil doers hate the light (Jn 3:20-3:20)

“All who do evil

Hate the light.

They do not come

To the light.

Thus,

Their deeds

May not be exposed.”

John uniquely went even further.  Everyone who committed evil deeds or practiced wicked things (πᾶς γὰρ ὁ φαῦλα πράσσων) hated the light (μισεῖ τὸ φῶς).  They did not want to come (καὶ οὐκ ἔρχεται) near the light (πρὸς τὸ φῶς).  They did not want their evil works exposed to the light (ἵνα μὴ ἐλεγχθῇ τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ).  The great evil was not to believe in the Son of God.  The evil doers did not like the light of day shining on their wicked activities.  Do you like the light of day?
