“While they were
Talking about this,
Jesus himself
Stood among them.
He said to them,
‘Peace be with you!’”
Ταῦτα δὲ αὐτῶν λαλούντων αὐτὸς ἔστη ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν [καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Εἰρήνη ὑμῖν]].
Luke indicated that while these two disciples were still talking about this (Ταῦτα δὲ αὐτῶν λαλούντων), Jesus himself stood in the middle of them (αὐτὸς ἔστη ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν). He said to them, “Peace be with you (καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Εἰρήνη ὑμῖν)!” This is somewhat similar to John, chapter 20: 19, since they both had a peace greeting. This peace greeting, however, is not found in all the manuscripts. What would you do, if Jesus showed up unexpectedly?
