Flesh and bones (Lk 24:39-24:39)

“Look at my hands!

Look at my feet!

See that it is I myself!

Touch me!

A spiritual ghost

Does not have

And bones

As you see

That I have.”

Luke indicated that Jesus told them to look at his hands (ἴδετε τὰς χεῖράς μου) and his feet (καὶ τοὺς πόδας μου).  He told them that it was Jesus himself (ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι αὐτός).  He told them to touch him (ψηλαφήσατέ με).  He said that a spiritual ghost did not have flesh and bones (ὅτι πνεῦμα σάρκα καὶ ὀστέα οὐκ ἔχει).  They could see that he had (καθὼς ἐμὲ θεωρεῖτε ἔχοντα) flesh and bones.  Truly, this was the risen Lord Jesus with his human glorified body.  John, chapter 20:20, had something similar where Jesus also showed them his hands and his feet.  Why do you think the disciples were so unbelieving about the resurrection of Jesus?
