Went to Pilate.
For the body
Luke said that this Joseph went to Pilate He asked for the body of Jesus Mark, chapter 15:43-45, said that Joseph went boldly to Pilate He asked for the body of Jesus (καὶ ᾐτήσατο τὸ σῶμα τοῦ Ἰησοῦ), but Mark had a more expanded conversation between Joseph and Pilate. John, chapter 19:38, simply had this short statement about going to Pilate, without any comment from Pilate. Matthew, chapter 27:58, said that this Joseph of Arimathea went to Pilate He asked for the body of Jesus Then Pilate ordered or commanded that the body be given to Joseph Thus, the body of Jesus left the control of the Roman and the Jewish authorities. However, there was no mention of the bodies of the other two robbers who had been crucified with Jesus. Would you want the body of Jesus?
