Give the crowd something to eat (Mt 14:16-14:16)

“Jesus said to them.

‘They need not go away.

You give them something

To eat.’”

ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν ἀπελθεῖν· δότε αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς φαγεῖν.

The fact that Jesus wanted to feed everyone is recorded in all four gospels, Mark, chapter 6:37, Luke, chapter 9:13, and John, chapter 6:10, plus here.  Despite the fact that the disciples wanted to send the crowds home, Jesus wanted to feed them there.  Jesus said to his disciples (ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς) that the crowds did need not to go away (Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν ἀπελθεῖν), because Jesus and his disciples were going to give them something to eat (δότε αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς φαγεῖν).
