The meaning of the word Bible

The word “Bible” literally means books, based on the Greek word biblos.   The English word “Bible” comes from this Greek word and the Latin biblia.  Thus, we have English words like bibliography, bibliophile, and Bible.  The French use the word biblioteque as their word for a library.  The Bible is literally a series of different books written over a period of nearly 1,000 years.
