“As for you,
Do not pray for this people!
Do not lift up a cry!
Do not lift up a prayer
On their behalf!
I will not listen
When they call to me
In the time of their trouble.”
Yahweh told Jeremiah not to waste his time praying or crying out for these people. He was not to lift up a prayer for them. Yahweh was not going to listen when they called him if they were in trouble.
