“Thus King Solomon excelled over all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. All the kings of the earth sought the presence of King Solomon to hear his wisdom that God had put into his mind. Every one of them brought a present, objects of silver and gold, garments, weapons, spices, horses, and mules, so much year by year.”
Once again, this is almost word for word from 1 Kings, chapter 10. King Solomon’s wisdom was so great that kings from everywhere would come to King Solomon to hear the wise sayings that God had put into his mind. Supposedly he was the wisest and richest man in the whole world, according to this biblical author. They sought out his presence. However, in return, they gave him gifts of gold, silver, garments, weapons, spices, or animals. This went on for years. Thus he amassed a great fortune.
