“All of these were men of Asher, heads of ancestral houses, select mighty warriors, chief of the princes. Their number enrolled by genealogies, for service in war, was twenty-six thousand men.”
These fighting men and leaders of Asher numbered 26,000. Once again, it is not clear where that number comes from. At the time of census in Numbers, chapter 26, the men of Asher numbered 53,400, so that this may come from the time of David.
