“When Jehu came out to his master’s officers, they said to him. ‘Is everything all right? Why did that madman come to you?’ He answered them. ‘You know the sort and how they babble.’ They said. ‘ Liar! Come on, tell us!’ So he said. ‘This is just what he said to me. Thus says Yahweh. I anoint you king over Israel.’ Then hurriedly they all took their cloaks and spread them for him on the bare steps. They blew the trumpet. They proclaimed. ‘Jehu is king.’”
Interesting enough, Elisha had started a revolution. When Jehu came back to his counsel members, they asked him if he was okay. They wanted to know what that madman was up to. Jehu said that he just babbled on. Then they called him a liar and wanted to know exactly what was up. Then he said what the unnamed prophet had said to him. Jehu was to be king over all Israel. They quickly threw their coats on the ground to protect his feet. They blew the trumpet. They proclaimed that Jehu was the king.
