Absalom flees (2 Sam 13:34-13:38)

“But Absalom fled. When the young man who kept the watch looked up he saw many people were coming from the Horonaim road by the side of the mountain. Jonadab said to the king. ‘See the king’s sons have come. As your servant said, so it has come about.’ As soon as he had finished speaking, the king’s sons arrived. They raised their voices and wept. The king and all his servants wept very bitterly. But Absalom fled. He went to Talmai the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. David mourned for his son day after day. Absalom having fled to Geshur, stayed there three years.”

Absalom took off and fled. Meanwhile the other sons came home to King David. Jonadab told the king that the other sons were coming. Once the other sons arrived, they and all their servants wept. Absalom fled to his father-in law’s home in Geshur, where he stayed 3 years.
