“You shall appoint judges and officers throughout your tribes, in all your towns that Yahweh your God is giving you. They shall render just decisions for the people. You must not distort justice. You must not show partiality. You shall not accept bribes, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of those who are in the right. Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, so that you may live and occupy the land that Yahweh your God is giving you.”
Justice is very important and should be administered correctly. You have to appoint judges and officials that will render just decisions and not distort justice. Bribes are bad because they pervert justice. If you pursue justice, you will live long in your new land that Yahweh is giving to you.
